Our Story

The Black Women’s Wellness Collective was founded to address the gap in culturally sensitive wellness and personal development resources for Black women. Too many of us are balancing work, family, and community responsibilities while battling burnout, stress, and trauma. We knew it was time to create a space that understands the unique challenges we face—and to provide the tools, support, and community to help Black women reclaim their well-being and live fully empowered lives.

We envision a world where every Black woman has the resources, support, and confidence to thrive, free from burnout and stress, and empowered to create lasting impact.

Our Mission

Our mission is to empower Black women to prioritize their mental, emotional, and physical well-being, heal from trauma, and achieve sustainable growth in their personal and professional lives.

Founder Journey

Princella "Princess" Lee

Princella “Princess” Lee, visionary founder of the Black Women’s Wellness Collective, is a licensed social worker, community health educator, and nonprofit leader who is passionate about helping Black women heal and thrive. Growing up on the South Side of Chicago, Princella’s journey toward wellness began early when she became a vegetarian as a teenager. With a deep-rooted interest in nutrition and self-care, she earned her bachelor’s degree in Community Health Education with a specialization in Nutrition from the University of Illinois and her master’s degree in Social Work Administration from Chicago State University.

The daughter of two hardworking parents who passed before she turned 45, Princella was profoundly shaped by the importance of cherishing life and prioritizing self-care. Her parents’ legacy inspired her to create spaces for Black women to focus on healing, wellness, and growth. Through the Black Women’s Wellness Collective, she combines her expertise in nutrition, mental health, and leadership to foster community-driven wellness strategies, including travel experiences and self-care practices. A world traveler herself, Princella believes that wellness and adventure go hand in hand, and she is committed to helping women achieve balance, health, and thrive in all aspects of their lives.
